- MTERA is an opt-in scheme
- Allows people aged at least 18 to pledge any organ or body part for transplant, education or research after they pass away
- Body parts may be used for:
- Transplant and treatment
- Education
- Research
- Any person aged at least 18 of any nationality may opt-in
- Family members may not withdraw an opt-in to MTERA
- However, donations may be made by the family members when the patient passes away
